Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief : My Review

This week's movie choice was the new science fiction Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief. Abg Hard and I felt that we should still take a look at it even though we heard bad reviews from our colleagues. By the way, to me there was no other title worth watching this week other than Percy Jackson.

Here goes nothing with my review...

After halfway through the movie, I definitely felt that the review we heard from our colleagues was the true opposite of what we felt. I guess they are not in favour of the ancient Greek mythology. We both agreed that the storyline was fun and interesting. I won't comment on the CGI thing as I would expect Hollywood movies to maintain their good reputation at it.

The journey began when Percy Jackson, a dyslexic demi-God (offspring of Greek God with mortal human) son of one of the Greek God, Poseidon was accused of stealing the lightning who apparently a powerful weapon owned by another Greek God, Zeus. Having said that, Zeus has requested for the lightning to be returned within 10 days time or war will erupt between the Greek Gods. Percy Jackson, together with his protector; Grover and Annabeth daughter of another Greek God, Athena embarks on a mission to save his mother who was kidnapped by Hades from the underworld.

Percy Jackson son of Poseidon

Grover, the hilarious satyr (half man half goat hybrid)

The infamous Medusa (I just love Uma Thurman)

The trio before the showdown with a three headed (later six headed) hydra

I'm not gonna go too detail on this movie, its just that I felt that the storyline was very good with a little pinch of comedy here and there. All and all, I enjoyed it and will rate it highly if people ask me about it.
